  • Hanuman Chalisa holds a special place and importance in the Hindu religion as it highlights Hanuman’s unique qualities. There are forty verses praising Hanuman, each line has been translated by The Jai Jais for children to easily understand.
  • Chanting the Chalisa creates positive energy and vibrations. Children who recite the Chalisa, will be filled with wisdom and strength. Sometimes children try to do things that can be challenging or tricky, and can cause them to become sad or frustrated. Praying to Hanuman can help children accomplish difficult tasks. He can bring peace and happiness to their minds, and achieve well being.

About the Jai Jais

The books have been developed and written by Sunita Shah, a mum of two who realised that she wanted her kids to be introduced to her religion in a fun way which also developed their vocabulary and speech. As a qualified paediatric speech and language therapist, she has developed these books to have a simple text matching the knowledge and skills of communication norms expected for a child aged 18 month-4 year old with the correct length of utterance and target vocabulary.

The books have been presented to a Hindu priest who has verified the stories and characters to be acceptable, and correct according to Hindu beliefs. The books have been illustrated by James Ballance

Why We Love It

We absolutely love these books. In an ever-increasing online world, the simple pleasure of reading to your little bubba with a physical book is unparalleled. As parents of Indian heritage, we love that we can introduce our little one to Hindu mythology in a very fun, light-hearted way – all whilst developing their language skills.
